Someone bought the S&M today so tomorrow I will be running around finding boxes and packing the bike up ready to send Thursday morning from the depot in Bristol.
I am deciding what I want to do with the cash I can either save it, buy some wheels to use for jumping or buy a freestyle cruiser to learn to Jump on and use to ride to work and practice manuals all the way to work and play at street riding.
I am leaning towards the last option and have my eye on a Sunday Model C which has a Chrome Frame and Odyssey and Sunday parts so is pretty high end and everyone says great things about it. It is also a scaled up 20" so rides like a true freestyle bike and not a 24" at all.
I like the idea of the Sunday as it would be ideal to use at the pump track as well and then I can sell my 20" and use the Sunday for pump tracks and also jumping at the track as well.
The last couple Few races have highlighted that I need to learn to manual and jump better in order to keep up with the fast boys as I am loosing speed all the time at the moment when I should be getting faster.
ON the last 4 tracks there have been jumps that are really hard to manual cleanly and that the only fast way to get over the jumps is to jump them.
I think the time has come to learn to jump properly before the next race in Bristol next month and I want to get a bike that is a bit more forgiving than my race bike but still feels like a cruiser. Hence the Sunday which has a steel frame and larger tyres to absorb more of the impact. I was thinking that on the days were normally I am resting I could go to a track and jump instead then I can put what I learn into practice the next day doing full laps.
As Sunday's racing showed once I have jumped a jump I can continue Jumping it as there was a small double on the inside of the berm that I had tried to jumps and not been able to until I was in my third moto and had to try and catch people up and I jumped it without thinking as I was going too fast to pump or manual and just jumped it naturally without thinking. Once I had done it once I did it in the semi and final without thinking too.
I did the same thing when I was trying to jump the second jump at Bristol I kept casing it every time until I did it cleanly once then I could do it easily and at speed.
I have just bought a new Sunday Model C from here: https://www.foundationbmx.com/bmx-shop/bmx-bikes/sunday-model-c-24-2017.html
