Got up at 5.30 am this morning and drove to Tiverton for a training session ready for the regional in a few weeks.
Made great strides today so really pleased. I have now got the first second and third straights pretty much sorted and I am starting to carry speed around the whole track now.
Today I practiced mainly second and third straights today. I am now able to jump the 1st on the second straight and cleanly manual the 2nd and manual and pump the third.
On the third straight I can now cleanly manual and pump the first and manual the second whilst gaining speed.
Next week I will consentrate on the 4th straight and then do full laps to string everything together.
I am hoping that by the end of next week I will have the track 100% sorted so that I don't have to think about anything while I am racing.
On the way back I dropped into crucial to get the dialled StayStrong built up again as my mountain bike is out of commission until I buy a new seat, post and clamp to replace the stolen ones but I am not in any hurry to get new bits as they are too expensive and I don't want to replace them to give the crackheads that stole the originals more things to sell for crack!!!!
The 20" will be better as I can bring it inside and stash it somewhere so that I don't get anything else stolen.
While I was there I bought some Tioga power block tyres for the Yess to see if they stop all of the wrist pain I am getting slaming into the back of jumps trying to manual them.
People say that the power locks are more forgiving than the maxxis tyres as the have a higher profile and therefore a bigger cussion of air to absorb some of the shock that at the moment is going to my wrists.
They also have a larger rolling circumference than the DTH which is supposed to be better.
I am going to fit them now and I will take some pictures to post later.
